Docks at Hatteras Village
Guided by Lynne Foster. Her husband is Captain Ernie Foster.
Watch the boats come in with their catches. Learn about local fish, watch them being cleaned, learn about what happens after the fish are caught!
If we are really lucky and it’s a good day, we might get to go to the fish house.
Established in 1937 by the late Capt. Ernal Foster, the Albatross Fleet has fished every season since then except for the years of WW II. The fleet is now operated by Capt Ernie Foster who, having learned from his father, is one of only three second-generation native guides operating out of Hatteras.

Tour ends.
Feel free to continue to walk to docks and enjoy Hatteras! Stay and enjoy dinner at Dinky's, above the Village Marina office next to Albatross Fleet or nearby try The Breakwater at Oden’s Dock. The chefs are both commercial fisherman and have the contacts to get local seafood fresh straight from the boats. He gets some of the varieties not often seen in restaurants. Plus - he is a great chef!
